Cabbage Steaks with Spicy Soy Ginger Glaze

Ingredients
  • 1 head cabbage
  • 2 clove garlic
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • ½ tbsp turbinado sugar or sweetener of choice
  • 2 tsp chili paste
  • 2 tsp fresh ginger
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
For garnish:
  • 1/2 cup cashews roasted and salted
  • 4 green onions
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 400 F.
  2. Slice cabbage into 1 inch steaks.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together garlic, olive oil, soy sauce, sugar, chili paste, ginger, and sesame oil.
  4. Line cabbage steaks onto a greased baking sheet. Drizzle the glaze over each steak.
  5. Note: steaks will be different sizes, so drizzle proportionally over each steak.
  6. Bake steaks for 25 minutes, or until tender. Garnish with sesame seeds, cashews, and sliced scallions and serve.
