I’ve been in love with tempeh for a while now. In an effort to reduce my animal product consumption, I’ve been going down a plant-based protein rabbit hole. Turns out, tempeh is my favorite protein substitute, so get ready for tempeh recipes galore!
This dish is perfect for your meatless Monday, a quick weeknight dinner, or double the batch and enjoy it all week long for your weekly meal prep!
Here’s what you’ll need:
8 oz tempeh
⅓ cup veg broth
½ tsp garlic powder
½ basil, dried
1/3 tsp salt
3 tbsp olive oil
Directions:
- Cut the tempeh into triangles or strips.
- Add the tempeh, broth, garlic powder, basil, and salt to a mason jar and marinate in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
- Remove the tempeh from the marinade, and pan fry with olive oil over medium heat until each side is golden and slightly crispy, about four minutes per side. Enjoy.
- Add a splash of apple cider vinegar to the remaining marinade for a garlic and herb salad dressing!
