I’ve been in love with tempeh for a while now. In an effort to reduce my animal product consumption, I’ve been going down a plant-based protein rabbit hole. Turns out, tempeh is my favorite protein substitute, so get ready for tempeh recipes galore!

This dish is perfect for your meatless Monday, a quick weeknight dinner, or double the batch and enjoy it all week long for your weekly meal prep!

Here’s what you’ll need:

8 oz tempeh
⅓ cup veg broth
½ tsp garlic powder
½ basil, dried
1/3 tsp salt
3 tbsp olive oil

Directions:

  1. Cut the tempeh into triangles or strips.
  2. Add the tempeh, broth, garlic powder, basil, and salt to a mason jar and marinate in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
  3. Remove the tempeh from the marinade, and pan fry with olive oil over medium heat until each side is golden and slightly crispy, about four minutes per side. Enjoy.
