Ahh sweet summertime. There’s nothing quite like it. One of our favorite ways to celebrate the beautiful weather is up in Northern MN on the lake. We grill out almost every night. One thing that goes perfectly with grilled protein or veggie skewers is barbecue sauce. It’s hard to find a clean barbecue sauce, so we just decided to create our own.

 

Ingredients:

15 oz can tomato sauce
3 Tbs maple syrup
3 Tbs apple cider vinegar
2 Tbs coconut aminos (or low sodium soy sauce if you can’t find coconut aminos)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
1/4 tsp liquid smoke

 

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients together and enjoy
