We are obsessed with our Crock-Pot. It makes meal prep a breeze. Sometimes we get a little creative with our recipes and create something so delicious and flavorful that we surprise ourselves. That’s exactly what happened with this homemade marinara sauce:

 

Ingredients:

1 jalapeño
1 onion
1 cup carrots shredded
1 red pepper
4 cloves garlic minced
2 Tbs fresh basil
2 Tbs fresh parsley
1 Tbs maple syrup
10 tomatoes
3 tsp Italian herb blend (oregano and thyme)
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
1 tsp salt
1 tsp apple cider vinegar

Directions:

  1. Add ingredients to Crock-Pot and cook on low for 5 hours
  2. Optional: blend cooked sauce in blender until smooth
